Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is fundamental to who we are.
At every level, our people uphold these values through initiatives that foster respect, equality, and cultural understanding to create a workplace and industry where everyone can thrive.
White Ribbon Australia
We are proud to be accredited as a White Ribbon Workplace, committed to ending gendered violence through robust policies, training, and a culture of respect.
This certification marks a milestone in achieving our corporate responsibility and commitment to prevent gender-based violence against women, promote respectful relationships and achieve gender equality within our workplace and across the property industry.
Through this internationally recognised initiative, we have demonstrated our commitment to implementing practices that ensure our workplace inspires positive behaviours across our business.
Since White Ribbon Australia was launched over a decade ago, the White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation program has reached more than 300,000 employees in Australia as workplaces across the country pledge their commitment to ensuring the safety of women through the prevention of violence against them.
Supporting First Nations
Savills is committed to supporting First Nations communities. This initiative is reflected in our culturally respectful and inclusive project delivery. Guided by the NSW Government’s Connecting with Country Framework, our teams like Project Management and Property Consultancy ensure every project incorporates meaningful engagement with First Nations representatives and reflects cultural heritage in its design and purpose.
Beyond project delivery, our commitment extends to partnering with community based organisations, including providing mentoring programs that empower young Indigenous women (including those from First Nation communities) as well as working with recruitment agencies specialising in connecting employers with First Nation candidates.
Flexible Workplace and Policies
At Savills, we value our people’s lives outside of work as much as they do. We believe that a fulfilling career should go hand in hand with a healthy work/life balance, and we provide the flexibility and support to make that possible. Our policies are designed to help them flourish both professionally and personally.
Savills offers a comprehensive range of benefits to support different stages of life and individual needs. These include Parental Leave to help navigate family responsibilities, Loyalty Leave and Wellbeing Leave to recharge and prioritise mental health, and Uncapped Domestic & Family Violence Leave to ensure safety and support during challenging times.
Our commitment to inclusion is reflected in Inclusion Leave, while Volunteer Leave and Study Leave empower our people to give back to the community and pursue personal development. To further ease transitions, we also provide a Return to Work Bonus, and pay Superannuation on the unpaid portion of Parental leave, reinforcing our dedication to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported at every step.
Our Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives
Savills is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual feels supported and valued. Our initiatives reflect this commitment and extend beyond the workplace to make a positive impact in the community.
Mentorship plays a key role in our approach. Leaders such as Stephanie Ballango and Catherine Pirionis are actively coaching a young woman through Two Good Co.’s Work Work initiative, a program designed to help women who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, and complex trauma rebuild their lives and careers.
We also prioritise wellbeing through programs like Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring our people have access to trained colleagues who can provide support when needed. Celebrating diversity is equally important, which is why International Women’s Day is celebrated across all our Australia and New Zealand offices.
Our teams regularly participate in community work, including Our Village in Victoria, Foodbank in Western Australia, Two Good Co in New South Wales and Wesley Mission Queensland, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to the community.
Property Champions of Change group
Our CEO, Paul Roberts, has been appointed to the Property Council of Australia’s Property Champions of Change group, a collective of senior leaders working together to advance gender equality and inclusion across the property industry.
Since its establishment in 2015, the group has played an important role in challenging the status quo and taking action to increase the representation of women in leadership roles.
Paul’s role on the committee sees him contribute both through the group and within our own business to listen, learn and continue to build a more inclusive, equitable environment for everyone.
PCA's 500 Women in Property
We have 12 talented women participating in the Property Council of Australia's 500 Women in Property this year, supported by sponsors who will dedicate their time to advocate for these talents for the next 12 months.
This powerful industry initiative helps elevate female talent and create clear pathways to leadership across the property sector.
UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism
From 25 November to 10 December this year, Savills joins the global UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism campaign to help end gender-based violence.
During the campaign, organisations across the globe, from international human rights agencies to grassroots community organisations, unite to strengthen the activism of campaigners worldwide.
Joining this global campaign is a proud reflection on our White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation and the steps we’ve taken to create a safer, more respectful workplace.
