COVID-19: State of the Occupier Update - Amsterdam

What is the current state of occupancy?

Most office occupiers are working from home with only essential functions continuing to physically report for work.

What are occupier clients asking about?

Occupiers are asking us to review their leases to identify and reduce controllable expenses, analyze clauses, seek short-term rent abatements, and research any other creative solutions we can assist with, such as abating Q2 2020 rent and amortizing over 2021.

What actions are being taken by:

Many occupiers are seeking rent relief or abatements from landlords.


LANDLORDS?

For the most part, landlords are open to conversations with tenants to find a pragmatic solution that fits both parties. For now, landlords seem to be understanding when the tenant is directly financially impacted by the ongoing pandemic.
