Sunshine Coast holiday park transacts for the second time in 30 years

A family owned and operated holiday park in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands has transacted for the second time in thirty years, achieving a strong result.

A family owned and operated holiday park in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands has transacted for the second time in thirty years, achieving a strong result.

Located on an elevated 2.04 hectare site at 26 Warruga Street, the Lilyponds Holiday Park was sold by marketing agents Peter Capps and Mark Dann of Savills.

A high level of interest from buyers was received throughout the duration of the sales process, with 125 enquiries fielded and multiple formal offers received.

Manager of Sales and Leasing at Savills Sunshine Coast, Peter Capps, said many of these enquiries were from interstate buyers.

“A high percentage of the enquiries from outside of Queensland were looking for development opportunities in the aged care and retirement living space,” Mr Capps said.

Lilyponds features 64 sites (inclusive of 12 cabins), two freestanding amenity blocks, two BBQ areas, in-ground swimming pool, plus a children’s playground.

“The new owner occupiers will live in the manager’s residence onsite, as it features a well presented 3 bedroom home and manager’s office,” Mr Capps said.

Director of Savills, Mark Dann, said many of the parties who enquired about Lilyponds are still looking for similar opportunities to purchase holiday or caravan parks on the Sunshine Coast.

“Many of these parks represent a return on investment in excess of 10% of the net annual income, the previous owners have the park running like clockwork making it an easy transition,” Mr Dann said.

Lilyponds is ideally located within a short walk to the nearby parklands, cafes, and the iconic Mapleton Tavern, and it is only a 20 minute drive to the Sunshine Coast Airport and beaches.
