Savills Studley Improves Operations for Good Shepherd Services in Bronx Renewal

13 November 2017

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate advisory firm specializing in tenant representation, announced that it worked with Good Shepherd Services on renewing the organization’s lease and improving its facility in the University Heights area of The Bronx.

Good Shepherd Services is a nonprofit that strives to connect children, youth and families living in under-resourced neighborhoods with opportunities for success by providing a network of youth and family development, education and child welfare services.

Good Shepherd Services has had an outpost in University Heights for over 10 years as the anchor tenant of 7 West Burnside Avenue (at Jerome Avenue), occupying 20,000 square feet. In advance of the building’s recent sale to The Jemstone Group, LLC, Savills Studley Senior Managing Directors Howard Poretsky and Patrick Gardner negotiated a lease renewal for Good Shepherd Services with the new landlord and secured a significant tenant improvement allowance that will allow the nonprofit to fix long-standing issues with its facility and increase its efficiency.

“This transaction allows us to continue to serve the University Heights community for years to come and brings needed repair and modernization to our facility,” said Erika Lake, Director of Real Estate and Operations at Good Shepherd Services. “Howard and Patrick’s advisory had a tremendous impact on our organization and we are grateful for their help.”

“Good Shepherd Services is a cornerstone of the University Heights community, and remaining at 7 West Burnside with improvements to the space, was critical for the organization to thrive,” said Poretsky. “We are thrilled to support Good Shepherd’s incredible work serving children, families and neighborhoods throughout New York City.”
